Epson G10-854SR Robot Assembly Station Dosing Station

The assembly station is divided into the following sub-stations: 3.1 Dosing Area, 3.2 Mounting Area KK+SW, and 3.3 Mounting Area Front. (KK = Heat Sink, SW = End Wall Bracket)

St.3.1: Dosing Area
- A workpiece carrier (WT) with mounted chassis and circuit boards enters the dosing area via the transfer belt.
- The WT is stopped at the lifting and positioning unit (HuPo), lifted off the belt, and fixed in position.
- The x-y-z handling system then moves the dosing head to the predefined position and starts the dosing process.
- After successful dosing, the handling moves back to the rest position and the WT is placed back onto the belt.
- Transport continues into the mounting area KK+SW (on condition that there is no WT in the placement position).

St.3.2: Mounting Area KK+SW
- The WT moves from the dosing area to the mounting area KK+SW via the transfer belt.
- It is stopped at the lifting and positioning unit (HuPo), lifted off the belt, and fixed in position; during this, the chassis side walls of the semi-assembled unit are aligned.
- Simultaneously, the KK tray and SW tray are positioned.
- Each KK tray stack (12) and SW tray stack (12) are manually placed on their respective infeed belts outside the safety enclosure.
- The two safety shutters are opened and the loaded tray stacks move into the gripping position of each stacker.
- The safety shutters are closed again.
- The respective grippers pick up the corresponding tray.
- The z-axis separates the trays and transports them upwards (above the actual pick-up height).
- For centering and stabilization, a centering support is positioned under each tray using x-handling.
- With the stacker z-axis, the tray is placed on the corresponding centering support.
- The trays are now ready for part removal.
- Using the multi-gripper on the SCARA robot, the heat sink (KK) is picked from the tray and placed in an intermediate position as a positioning aid (to compensate for any inaccuracies when picking up, thus achieving a reproducible gripping position for assembly).
- The KK is scanned, picked up again, and—if the scanner result is OK—installed on the WT.
- Any NOK (not OK) KK is placed in a NOK box.
- The multi-gripper on the SCARA robot then picks the end wall bracket (SW) from the tray and places it in the alignment position.
- The SW is picked up again and mounted on the WT.
- Proceed with front mounting area.
