For over 100 years, August Gleitsmann established a round timber trading company for rafting wood in Wipfeld am Main. Since then, the business has remained family-owned—now in the 3rd generation of the Gleitsmann family. Around 50 employees are employed across the three locations: Unterspiesheim, Bergtheim, and Wipfeld. These sites currently comprise two hardwood sawmills, one construction timber sawmill, and timber trading in Wipfeld.

Today, our facilities in Unterspiesheim and Bergtheim position us as specialists in hardwoods such as beech, oak, ash, and mixed hardwoods. With an annual cutting capacity of approximately 33,000 cubic metres, we are among the largest sawmills in the region.

Additionally, we operate 16 large-capacity drying chambers with a total volume exceeding 10,000 cubic metres. This makes us one of the most capable hardwood drying facilities in Germany. Thanks to our gentle drying process, we achieve maximum colour consistency with minimal surface cracking.
